Organization: "Keep Georgia Tidy", within the frameworks of the World School Project, invites all students and teachers of Georgian public schools to participate in an environmental competition. The aim of the competition is to encourage the students to clean and plant their own schoolyards. In the process, they will observe the stages of planting and taking care of plants, making it a daily habit and contributing to the mitigation of the global problem - climate change.

 

Competition conditions:

Within the frameworks of the competition you can submit an application in two nominations:

1. Green schoolyard

2. Clean school territory

Nomination -  Green schoolyard:

  • Create a green team of students and teachers of your school and give a name to it (maximum number of team members - 15 participants. It is possible to have a team of students from different grades)

  • Select the area you plan to plant. Take photos of the selected location before you start work.

  • In autumn plant plants and seedlings, that is useful for the environment, climate, and soil; take care of them, decorative part of the garden, and collect visual material describing this process (for advice you can contact the elders, family members, or us).       

  • In spring (until May 1) collect material of all three stages and tell in written about the work of your group, planted plants and achieved results.  
     

Nomination – Clean school territory 

  • Create a green team of students and teachers of your school and give name to it (maximum number of team members - 15 participants. It is possible to have a team of students from different grades) Select the area you plan to plant. Take photos of the selected location before you start work. 

  • Use special protective equipment (towels, gloves) to clean your school area, create special warning signs or posters to keep clean the area in the future. (For advice you can contact the elders, family members or us).

  • In spring (until May 1) collect material of all three stages and tell in written about the work of your group, planted plants and achieved results.

 

Terms and conditions for participation in the competition and submission of the application:

The deadline for submission of the applications is November 15.

 

Please submit by November 15 the following information:

 

  • Information about the school and the team (region, school, names and number of participants)

  • Photos of selected area

On May 22 - World Biodiversity Day, the three best "school green yards" and the three best "cleaned school grounds" will be revealed. Author teams will be awarded with special prizes.
